Description :

Intéressante lettre de Norman Mailer sur ses influences littéraires françaises. «I can tell you little about the French authors of the present for I've been remiss in reading them, but French literature has been part of my food as a writer : Zola, Flaubert, Stendhal, particularly, Balzac from afar, De Maupassant nearby, Malraux, Baudelaire -- gosh, how could one be a writer today without profound affection for French literature? In any rate, I think it must be difficult to be a modern French writer when such mountains ranges throw their shadows».
