Jean-Baptiste Réveillon

(Paris, 1725/1811)

French industrialist who made his fortune in the manufacture of wallpaper, directed the Royal Manufacture of Folie Titon and remains best known for the "Réveillon affair", a riot that occurred in Paris in April 1789 after his remarks on the price of bread were interpreted as a desire to reduce workers' wages.
